Club Charter

Mission Statement

Rochester LEGO® User Group (RocLUG) is organized to promote and celebrate all forms of enjoying LEGO® for fans of all ages. We also strive to present LEGO® in a positive way to our local community.

Membership

Membership in RocLUG is open to all fans of LEGO® of all ages. There shall be no cost for membership in RocLUG. All members under the age of 14 must have a guardian present at meetings and events. Some events or programs may have age restrictions or participation requirements.

Steering Committee
Committee Membership
  • Any current active member of RocLUG is eligible to serve on the
    steering committee.
  • The steering committee will consist of ten members serving as at
    large members or in official positions.
  • Election of new steering committee members
    • Current active members of RocLUG must be nominated by current committee member or by petition signed by ten current members of RocLUG.
    • Confirmation will be by a majority vote by current committee membership.
  • Election of committee positions
    • Current committee members volunteer and are confirmed by a majority vote by the steering committee.
  • Removal of steering committee members
    • A motion must be made by a current steering committee member and seconded by another member.
    • Removal is effective by a yes vote of three quarters of the current steering committee, excluding the member in question.
Committee voting
  • Decisions are made by a majority vote of the current committee membership. Except when regarding the spending of RocLUG funds this will require a three quarter majority vote of the committee.
  • The President will abstain from all votes unless needed to break a tie
  • vote.
  • Voting may take place in person at regular meetings or if needed remotely.
  • If votes are tallied remotely a 36 hour window will be held for all members to cast their vote.
Amending this charter
  • To amend this charter a change must be motioned and seconded by a current member of the steering committee or by petition signed by ten current members of RocLUG.
  • The entire steering committee will then debate and vote by simple majority to send amendments to the club membership for adoption.
  • Club membership will vote to refuse or adopt proposed amendments and must be passed by a two-thirds majority vote of present members.
  • The vote shall take place the third regular meeting after the steering committing sends the amendment to the membership. The two meetings prior every effort must be made to inform members of the vote.
